UWGFR Participates in Community Bag Program at Stop and Shop

Jun 16, 2021 | News

United Way of Greater Fall River has begun generating donations through the Stop & Shop Community Bag and Giving Tag Programs.

The Stop & Shop Community Bag and Giving Tag Program, which launched in May 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities where shoppers live and work.

For the month of July, when a shopper purchases a $2.50 reusable Community Bag at Stop & Shop on Rodman Street in Fall River, a $1 donation will be made to United Way of Greater Fall River.  If a shopper purchase a community bag from any other Stop and Shop location at any time, they have the opportunity to direct a $1 donation to a local non-profit by using the attached Giving Tag. We’ve already begun generating donations through the use of the Giving Tag.

“We are excited to participate in the Community Bag program this July as it is an easy way for shoppers to reduce their environmental impact AND donate to United Way at the same time” said Kimberly J. Smith, executive director.
