Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Policy
United Way of Greater Fall River’s service area is a diverse, thriving community on the Southcoast of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. From urban mills to bucolic farms to rocky seashores, the cities and towns we serve are made up of individuals and families who have moved here, whether just last week or generations ago, to live a better life for themselves and those they love.
United Way of Greater Fall River values the diversity of our community; promotes equity for all who live, work, and play here; and supports the dignity of all people regardless of their race, ethnicity, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, or veteran status.
We refuse to discriminate or support others who discriminate against any person based on their race, ethnicity, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, or veteran status and comply with all requirements of law and regulation, with respect to employment, volunteer opportunities, and the provision of services and funding.
We support affirmative action, equal employment opportunity programs, and other programs designed to build equity among previously marginalized groups.
United Way of Greater Fall River denounces the structural racism, ethnic discrimination, and other forms of oppression that have contributed to racial disparities in the past and impact our community today.
Together with our partners, we will fight for the Health, Education, and Financial Stability of EVERY person in our community, no matter what.
