The Horne Fund, established 2019, honors former Executive Director, Robert L. Horne upon his retirement after 25 years of service to United Way.  Bob is passionate about education and the financial stability that education can bring to a family.  The Horne Fund provides scholarships to non-traditional students from the United Way of Greater Fall River service area in their pursuit of higher education.

 

Nominees for the Horne Fund Scholarship must be non-traditional students: those who took a different path to completing their high school credentials.  Nominees must be enrolled in a 2- or 4- year college/university, trade school, technical school, or certificate program.

 

In 2022, United Way of Greater Fall River will present 3- $500 scholarships. Students must be nominated by a local nonprofit organization.

 

Nominations are due before Tuesday, April 19th before midnight.
