Stamp Out Hunger is back on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will conduct its annual national food drive on Saturday, May 14th. NALC and United Way of Greater Fall River will host a press conference on Wednesday, May 11th at 9:00am to announce this year’s food drive.
FALL RIVER, MA—The National Association of Letter Carriers, United Way of Greater Fall River (UWGFR), and co-sponsors BankFive, GM Refrigeration, and Blount Fine Foods are pleased to announce that Stamp Out Hunger will be taking place in Greater Fall River on Saturday, May 14, 2022. Given the pandemic-caused economic dislocations the past two years, the need is greater than ever.
The traditional food drive is returning after a two-year hiatus because of the coronavirus pandemic. In 2020 and 2021, it was replaced by NALC’s donor drive, in which those wishing to help made online donations to local food pantries. All Stamp Out Hunger donations collected on Saturday will be disbursed to area food distribution partners.
“Letter carriers are a part of every neighborhood in the nation,” NALC President Fredric Rolando said, “and we see the growing need for food assistance in our communities. On Saturday, May 14th, NALC invites everyone to participate in the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Together, we can help stamp out hunger in America.”
On Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 9:00am, NALC and UWGFR will host a press conference at the Post Office at 2 Government Center to provide an overview of Stamp Out Hunger 2022.
