United Way of Greater Fall River (UWGFR) elected three new Board members at their Annual Meeting held in October. Dugan Becker, Community Liaison Officer at SouthCoast Wind, Shaun Branco, Vice President and Branch Manager at Rockland Trust, and Rommel Cordova, Operations Director at Whirlpool Corporation will serve on the Board of Directors for Fiscal Year 2024. The organization is excited to blend their talents with the expertise provided by the board’s existing members.

The appointees are stepping in as four board members move on from their long-standing positions: Roger Beliveau, retired – Stop n’ Shop; Sheldon Gana, Account Executive at RDA Insurance Agency; Maria Matos, School Adjustment Counselor at BMC Durfee High School; and Jorgelina Moreira, First Vice President – Deposit Operations at Mechanics Cooperative Bank. Their leadership and dedication to UWGFR’s mission and contributions to the board and its various committees have left an indelible mark and amplified the collective community impact.

As key stakeholders themselves, our Board Members are one of our most valuable assets whose prudent leadership and fiscal oversight have driven our ability to support agency partners at a consistent level for the past 75 years. They are undoubtedly the reason we are viewed as a trusted partner by our donors. We remain grateful to our outgoing members, many of whom remain involved well beyond their Board service, and welcome our incoming members who will build on our foundation and bring fresh ideas and insight.”
